The Word happens on Sunday mornings. We alternate when the youth leave the service – they either leave with the rest of the children after 20 minutes, or a bit later just before the main talk giving them an opportunity to join the whole church in taking communion. The youth spend time together looking at issues relevant to them and receive applicable Bible teaching. We are currently using the ‘Energize’ material from Urban Saints (www.urbansaints.org/energize) and have covered issues such as Family, Self Worth, Gossip and How Do We Know God Exists? Young people are encouraged to explore their own ideas, ask questions, develop their faith and understanding, while having fun at the same time.
