Wonder what you’re worth?

Question whether God can use you?

Well…

Moses stuttered, David’s armour didn’t fit.
John-Mark was rejected by Paul
and Hosea’s wife was a prostitute.
Amos’s only training was in a school of fig tree pruning.

Jacob was a liar and David had an affair.
Solomon was too rich and Abraham was too old.
David was too young and Timothy had an ulcer.

Peter was afraid of death and Lazarus was dead,
John was self-righteous and Jesus was too poor.
Naomi was a widow;
Paul was a murderer, and so was Moses…

Jonah ran from God and Miriam was a gossip. Gideon and Thomas both doubted and Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal. Elijah was burnt out and John the Baptist was a loud mouth.

Martha was a worrywart and Mary was lazy.
Samson had long hair, and Noah got drunk.

Did I mention that Moses had a short fuse?
- so did Peter, Paul, well lots of those guys did.

But God doesn’t require a job interview,
he doesn’t hire and fire like most bosses,
because he is more our Dad than our boss,
he’s not obsessed with financial gain or even loss.

He is neither prejudiced nor partial,
judging, grudging, nor moaning,
Not deaf to our cry, nor blind to our need,

Satan says you’ re not worthy…
and Jesus says ‘So what, I am.’
