Over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend, over 70 people from Ebe, City Church North and Bristol Vineyard hit Lockleaze with compassion teams that “showed God’s love in practical ways”.

On Saturday, it rained but Sunday and Monday were lovely days. We cleared out gardens, with enough furniture to furnish an entire house. We cleared up areas of wasteland which were dumping grounds for rubbish. Letters of thanks have been received from various organisations and local people. Horfield Community Centre was totally landscaped and a really positive impression was made with the young people who were hanging around.

Finally, on Monday afternoon, there were 100’s of children and many parents who came and enjoyed the free fun afternoon with bouncy castles and facepainting. Free Car washes had a continuous flow throughout Sunday and Monday.

Well done everyone but don’t stop now!
