What is Baptism?
At Ebe, we baptise by putting people totally under the water (and bringing them back up again!). We do this because Jesus was baptized in this way.
What is the meaning of baptism?
Baptism is a visual picture of what Jesus Christ did for us by dying, being buried for 3 days, and then rising from the dead – being baptised symbolises for us ‘burying’ our old way of life and starting a new one. Baptism doesn’t make you a Christian; it shows that you already believe.
Why should I be baptised?
Firstly, to follow Jesus’ example. Secondly, it shows God you are serious in your commitment to Him. And, being baptised is also a great witness, and way of making a statement to others about who you are and what you believe.
When should I be baptised?
You can be baptised when you have made a commitment to Jesus and are ready to take the next step in that relationship. You do not have to be perfect and feel like you have everything ‘sorted’!
